Embassies and Diplomatic Briefings

As Canada’s capital city, Ottawa is the heart of foreign and diplomatic relations in Canada, hosting over 100 high commissions and embassies. CANIMUN delegates have the opportunity to participate in the Embassy Visits Program, in which they are given the chance to visit high commissions and embassies throughout the city. There, they are able to meet and engage with diplomatic officials, learn more about diplomatic affairs and expand their knowledge of international relations. In addition, Global Affairs Canada, the Canadian foreign affairs department, has its head offices in Ottawa. CANIMUN 2017 will host a diplomatic briefing in which delegates can participate in a panel discussion with Canadian diplomatic officials.
