CANIMUN features a series of special events, offering delegates opportunities for networking, engaging with subject matter experts, developing soft skills and meeting other youth from around the world!
Embassy Visits Programme:
As Canada’s capital city, Ottawa hosts over 125 diplomatic missions. CANIMUN offers all delegates the opportunity to visit an Embassy or High Commission in the Ottawa area. Delegates will have the opportunity to meet with diplomats and embassy staff to discuss multilateral relations and foreign affairs. Organized by CANIMUN and UNA-Canada, these visits are a unique part of the CANIMUN experience and all delegates are encouraged to participate.
Diplomatic Briefing:
The Diplomatic Briefing is held later in the morning on Friday, during the latter part of the period designated for Embassy Visits. Delegates and faculty advisors who are unable to visit an embassy or are able to return to the conference in venue in time are welcome to attend the briefing. Diplomatic officials will be present to discuss and answer questions on international relations, diplomatic affairs and their experiences in the foreign service.
Black Tie Social:
Dust off your good suit or your favourite ball gown and dress to impress for the evening! CANIMUN will host a Black Tie Social on Saturday evening, featuring small bites, dancing and a cash bar. All delegates are welcome, however, wristbands will be issued at the door to ensure that only those who are of legal drinking age can enjoy the cash bar. This will be a great opportunity for delegates to meet and socialize with young people from all over the world!
